We ready! We're excited to announce our Equity Wings program, a free, month-long journey designed to empower and educate aspiring angel investors right here in Atlanta. Whether you're already an accredited investor or on the path to becoming one, this is your chance to dive into the world of startup investing and support diverse founders, especially from our vibrant Black community. We're joining forces with 1248 Angels, the Atlanta Chapter of BLCK VC, and the Center for Black Entrepreneurship. Our goal? To drive more investments into Black-led startups. 👉🏾 Who Should Apply? Accredited Investors: - If your annual income exceeds $200,000 (or $300,000 with a spouse) or your net worth is over $1 million, you're in! - Or if you hold certain professional certifications or designations. Non-Accredited Investors: - Not meeting the above criteria? No worries, there's a path for you too! 👉🏾 What You'll Get Out of It - Learn the fundamentals of angel investing, from evaluating startups to making informed decisions. - Connect with other amazing professionals and diverse-led startups. - Invest: We’re asking for a commitment of $2,500 (accredited) or $1,000 (non-accredited) by the end of 2024. - Introduce: Make three intros to potential customers for Atlanta-based Black-led startups. Unlikely Collaborators is thrilled to be participating in Backpack Healthcare's Series A funding in partnership with Bridge Builders Collaborative! The dedication of Hafeezah and the remarkable team at Backpack is paving the way for millions of at-risk youth to access urgently needed mental health and wellness services.

I am in awe of this woman who quite her job to start a new company focused on children's mental health. On National Child Mental Health Day I want to congratulate Hafeezah Muhammad and the amazing team she put together for Backpack Healthcare; they have raised $14M for their pediatric digital health company, which puts humans at the forefront and AI in the background. Focusing on children of color, Backpack Healthcare a network of providers certified with the first of its kind pediatric mental health certification, created in collaboration with Johns Hopkins University. They have also created an app and gamification tool called bibliotherapy, symbolizing the books and other tools a child carries on their back, alongside their emotions. Using the child's avatar to make them a starring character in their own interactive stories, bibliotherapy helps the child process their feelings and practice self care; alongside connecting with a a provider. We all carry so much on our backs. Thank you Hafeezah for providing this resource for children and families; for dreaming big; and for always finding ways to rally support around your vision.
