We’re celebrating the start of Native American Heritage Month with a spotlight on Maria Tallchief, a member of the Osage Nation and America’s first prima ballerina of indigenous origin. Though many tried to persuade her to change her last name to something that sounded more Russian or European, Tallchief refused and proudly represented her heritage onstage with numerous international ballet companies. These photos were taken by Jack Mitchell. #NativeAmericanHeritageMonth #NativeAmericanartists

Fashion editor Naomi Elizée ushers us into the inner sanctum Eleuteri for this next edition of “Out of the Vault.” Iconic pieces from esteemed international jewelry houses are showcased alongside coveted historic rarities at this Italian company’s Manhattan outpost. Naomi tries on a range of stunning jewels, from David Webb’s monumental gold necklace with medallions of carved emerald to an antique brooch featuring a graceful “en tremblant” design. This year marked the 42nd anniversary of The San Francisco Fall Show, the longest running art, antiques and design fair on the West Coast. An integral part of the San Francisco Bay Area’s art and design communities, the show held its Opening Night Gala on October 16th, with a portion of the proceeds going to benefit the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco (FAMSF). A favorite of San Francisco’s fall social calendar, the gala was attended by a number of 1stDibs sellers and dealers. Some 1stDibs sellers spotlighted at the event included Berggruen Gallery, Maison & Co, Antonio's Bella Casa, Emerson Bailey, Yew Tree House Antiques, Greg Pepin Silver, Leighton Fine Art, Mansour, Chris Howard Antiques & Modern, Kentshire and more. #SanFranciscoFallShow #artshow #designfair

We caught up with Jeremiah Brent Design at his home in NYC to see how the celebrated designer and his husband entertain in style. The pièce de résistance when hosting is their 1940s Swedish Modern cabinet, found on 1stDibs, because of how well it showcases the couple's chic barware, decanters and bowls. For atmosphere, Brent says long taper candles, vases with fresh-cut branches and wine glasses set on a silver tray offer a warm, convivial feeling to their gatherings. https://bit.ly/3YzjZKo #JeremiahBrent #JeremiahBrentDesign #holidayentertaining
