Did you catch our President & CEO, Jillian Crane, and one of our amazing scholars, Adriana Hendrickson-Slack, on PIX11? Adriana's story is a reminder of the sacrifices made by first responder families. Her mother, a New York City Police Department detective, bravely responded to the tragic events on 9/11 and now faces a Line of Duty disability. We are so grateful to Dan Mannarino and Hazel Sanchez for hosting this important conversation and shining a light on the impact of 9/11 on first responders and their families.

Delivering the news to three deserving scholars that they've been chosen for the Scooter Braun Braun Foundation x FRCF Children of Heroes Scholarship is a moment that never loses its impact. It's an emotional and heartwarming experience every time. This year, we were incredibly fortunate to share the joy in person with our scholars and their amazing first responder parents, seeing their faces light up as they learned they would receive $25,000 to support their dreams of education. It's a moment filled with happiness, hope, and the promise of a brighter future. In our current society, it is important that our first responders and their children start to be treated and feel like the heroes who risk their lives for us every day. As Scooter Braun states, “If we honored you the way we should, giving scholarships to your children shouldn’t even be a need.” Each student is awarded $25,000 to help cover the cost of tuition, fees, room and board. Thank you Toni Yates and Pedro Rivera for hosting our President & CEO, Jillian Crane, alongside New York City Police Department Commissioner White on abc7NY over the weekend! We’re incredibly grateful for the opportunity to discuss a topic that’s close to our hearts—the mental health of children of first responders. The challenges faced by these children are unique, and it’s critical that we bring attention to their needs and provide the support they deserve. Our Resiliency Program provides confidential counseling with culturally competent therapists who understand the needs first responder families

It’s National Nonprofit Day, so we wanted to recognize the passionate First Responders Children’s Foundation staff. Your tireless efforts enable us to make a difference in the lives of these very deserving children and families who sacrifice for all of us. Thank you! And thanks to our Board of Directors, partners, and donors— we would not have been able to have impact 700,000 families and 1.4 million children nationwide over the last 23 years without your support. And last, but certainly not least, thank you to all of our first responders, our agency leaders, and other nonprofit partners — we are proud to serve alongside you and honor your commitment to your community.
