Keeping with the empowering energy coming out of International Women’s Day, we're thrilled to spotlight this news from our member European Investment Bank (EIB), which is expanding its Sustainability Awareness Bond (SAB) to include gender equality and women’s economic empowerment as core social objectives. 📈 This initiative underscores the power of capital markets to drive transformative change. Aligned with the 2X Criteria, these bonds will mobilise investments promoting access to finance for women, female entrepreneurship and gender equality. ⚡From women-led businesses in Kenya and France to gender-inclusive employment in Armenia and maternal health solutions in Denmark, this framework ensures that capital flows where it makes a measurable difference. ↗️Why this matters: Research shows that achieving gender parity in employment and pay could boost global GDP per capita by nearly 20%. The EIB’s expansion of SABs ensures that financing is directed toward projects that actively bridge gender gaps and create sustainable economic growth. 🔗 Learn more: https://lnkd.in/eJWGYDrA

📺 Watch: From our member Climate KIC, comes the first in a series of fascinating stories of women-led Entrepreneurship Support Organisations that they followed to understand how women are driving innovative climate action and creating solutions to local environmental challenges. 🌎Get to know Quintessa - a women-led Entrepreneurship Support Organisation in Brazil, where their leaders are tackling climate issues at the grassroots level, across Brazil's diverse landscapes.
This year's International Women's Day reminds us that when we invest in women, we accelerate progress for everyone. In the coming weeks, we'll be sharing stories of six women-led Entrepreneurship Support Organisations that we followed to understand how women are driving innovative climate action and creating solutions to local environmental challenges. Yet, they face significant barriers that prevent them from scaling their efforts. Today, we share the first of these stories. At a time when global funding for women's initiatives is declining, Carolina Ochoa Koepke, founder of Quintessa - a women-led Entrepreneurship Support Organisation in Brazil - is proving the critical importance of women-led climate solutions. "We're not interested in solutions made for a boardroom," Carolina explains. "Our work begins with the people facing these problems every day." Quintessa's approach spans Brazil's diverse landscapes, from the Amazon to the Northeast, supporting women innovators by: • Amplifying women-led climate solutions • Providing technical support to local innovators • Embedding environmental stewardship in local economies Our Inclusive Climate Entrepreneurship programme supports organisations like Quintessa in scaling impactful, locally developed climate solutions. Partnering with CATAL1.5°T, Irish Aid, Green Hub, and Salesforce Foundation, we're working to embed gender equity in climate innovation. 📖 Watch the video here or read Quintessa's full story: https://bit.ly/4kH2zor #InternationalWomensDay #InclusiveClimateEntrepreneurship #WomenInClimate
