The City-County Communications & Marketing Association is the nation’s premiere network of local government communicators. The organization was founded in 1988 on the philosophy that communications and marketing are essential to helping governments engage and build stronger relationships with their residents. Effective public communicators are vital to local government success, linking residents to the essential information they need to access services and be part of the democratic process. They play a key role in cultivating a shared vision for the community. Connect 3CMA is all about making the connections you need. From national speakers, to innovative ideas and proven outcomes, to ways to use new technology, you’ll have the opportunity to connect and learn with nearly 1,000 of your peers. Webinars bring the value of membership directly to your office with online learning sessions where you can hear from and engage with communication leaders and experts. Regional conferences throughout the year allow a focus on regional issues and trends, with significant input from local members. The Members Only Section of the 3CMA website hosts a Resource Center with member examples of everything from Communication Plans to Social Media Policies to Managing the One-Person Shop to Requests for Proposals. And when you need one-on-one advice, the 3CMA staff is there to provide counsel and direct you to helpful resources. The hallmark connection opportunity is 3CMA’s Annual Conference, proclaimed by members as one of the greatest benefits of membership.

3CMA Webinar Series | Farmers, Trolls and Poison Worms: How AI Can Create Reputation Headaches for Government Communicators Wednesday, August 7, 2 p.m. Eastern Time, 11 a.m. Pacific Time We've all seen the webinars and blog posts about the myriad of ways artificial intelligence can boost our creativity, streamline content creation, and connect more effectively with our constituents. AI does have many benefits. Still, there's a whole other side of AI – a dark and treacherous side – where opportunistic schemers, scammers, conspiracy theorists, and even foreign governments are using AI to spread disinformation and hate, sow confusion, and turn neighbors against neighbors in today's ever-escalating culture wars. We need to talk about this as government communicators and how we can help put the “civil” back in civil discourse. Join us for a one-on-one chat with Jon Goldberg as we learn about the dangers of “malicious AI,” the warning signals to watch for, and best practices for protecting your city or county’s reputation, relationships with key constituents, and broader public image against harm. About the speaker - Jon Goldberg Jon Goldberg is Reputation Architects, Inc.'s founder and chief reputation architect (reputationarchitects.com), a strategic communications and reputation risk management advisory firm. Jon is dedicated to building, protecting, and restoring reputations in a world of evaporated trust and unprecedented stakeholder engagement. Trained as a journalist, Jon founded Reputation Architects in 2009 after more than 25 years as an advisor to corporate and non-profit executives and boards. He was a senior leader at some of the world’s most prominent communications firms, including Porter Novelli and Edelman Public Relations Worldwide, and was a front-line spokesman. A frequent author, speaker, and media commentator on reputation risk and crisis immunization strategies, Jon is a past chair of the Public Relations Society of America’s Counselors Academy. He serves on the executive board and is a U.S. ambassador-representative of the International Association of Risk and Crisis Communication. He has a bachelor’s degree in journalism and an MBA in finance from New York University. Register Today: https://lnkd.in/gK-2Ugff #3CMAWebinar #WeGetGov
