    Since 1989, I’ve been actively training, starting with the military and continuing to sharpen my skills through real-world, in-person experience. Whether it’s de-escalation, tactical maneuvers, or active shooter scenarios, nothing replaces the intensity and effectiveness of hands-on training. No amount of theory or online learning can replicate what you gain from being on the ground and doing it yourself. That’s why I still train today—because those life-saving skills need to stay sharp.     😍 Your Back to School Newsletter was gorgeous but I didn't read it. Want to know why? Naturally, you invested a lot of time into creating a gorgeous email, right? After all, this is a BIG season for you. So here's why I didn't read it (or buy anything): 1. Your images and colors were beautiful, but I opened it on my phone and couldn't read the tiny font. I didn't understand why I should take out my credit card and buy. 2. There were five different buttons to click, and I wasn't sure which to choose! I got confused and closed the email. Maybe I'll get back to it later. 3. You pointed out some product features, but I didn't understand how those features benefit me. Next time, try this: 1. Test your email on mobile in dark and light modes BEFORE you release it into the universe. 2. Decide what you want the reader to do when they read the newsletter. Focus every word, image, and button on that one action. It's okay to offer them two or three ways to take that action, but pitching every product you offer inside the body of your email creates too much noise. 3. Lead with the benefit, then support the benefit by listing a feature.
