Dear Friends, Clients and Colleagues. It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our esteemed Co-founder and dear friend, Norah de Bekker. Norah's unexpected departure has left us all with a deep sense of shock and loss. She was a cornerstone of our community at 5TEN, known for her visionary leadership and passionate commitment to our mission, as she would often say “to light up spirits and lift hearts”. Norah’s remarkable energy and dedication have left an indelible mark on our company, and her contributions will never be forgotten. We extend our heartfelt condolences to Norah’s family and to everyone touched by her vibrant presence. As we grieve this profound loss, we remain committed to fulfilling our commitments to our clients, as Norah would have expected. In addition, we are in the process of organizing a celebration of Norah and the impactful legacy she leaves behind. Details of this event are currently being finalized, and we will share them with you as soon as they are available. We are always on the prowl, looking for high-quality, long-lasting and efficient products and components to light up spaces that lift up spirits sustainably and creatively. Our Manufacturing and Procurement Director, Vicky, plays a pivotal role in our R&D. Based in Shenzhen - the heart of the global LED Technology Manufacturing - she has been instrumental these past four years for our design engineering team. Acting as our boots on the ground, she served as our eyes and ears, helping us navigate the challenges during the pandemic. Finally, after four years, our Design Engineer Director, Benjamin Price, had the opportunity to join her on a amazingly curated tour of suppliers, gaining in-person visibility into innovations and advancements in LED technology and beyond. Technical Project Manager, Matt LaVoie, accompanied Ben for the first time to get insight, gather information and streamline production, with a particular focus on quality control processes. To complete the R&D journey, Vicky and Ben visited ISE Barcelona, connected with lots of suppliers, and walked away with so much information and inspiration!
