Tomorrow's elections have rightfully occupied much of people's attention, but last week brought other important news you don't want to miss: Nvidia joins Dow (replacing Intel) Bond markets notice major AI players on the back of earnings/guidance - Meta and Microsoft saw consistent widening across all maturities, reflecting the concerns of the ongoing costs to support their AI infrastructure commitments - AMD showed the most more pronounced moves across all maturities, suggesting the market is pricing in near-term execution risk - Nvidia spreads also widened, but with less steepening, possibly due to diminishing enthusiasm for Gen AI Shout out to 7 Chord Inc and #BondDroid's real-time tracking allowing me to catch these nuanced moves as they happened - showing how different parts of the curve are pricing different types of AI risk. #FixedIncome #ArtificialIntelligence #CorporateBonds #FinTech #TechEarnings

📣 The #FederalReserve cut interest rates by 50 bps, lowering the target range to 4.75%–5%. The #FOMC voted 11 to 1 in favor of the rate cut, with one dissenting vote supporting a smaller reduction. 👉 The market's reaction was mixed. Corporate #bond spreads initially tightened, but, just like with the S&P 500, the gains quickly dissipated. By the end of the day, only 35% of the #Corporate and #Sovereign USD-denominated bonds advanced relative to the previous day's price. The rest finished wider. 👉 This reaction highlights that the economic environment is still uncertain. 🔹 According to the recent strategy note from Tellimer's Ayushi Gupta, bond issuance from #emergingmarkets state-owned enterprises is on the rise, with Saudi Arabia 🇸🇦 leading the pack. 🔹 For the first time in 12 years, #SaudiArabia has outpaced #China to become the leading issuer of international bonds. On July 9, Saudi state oil giant aramco started issuing USD-denominated bonds after a three-year hiatus. ✅ Tellimer used 7 Chord Inc's real-time pricing and liquidity data to identify the trend.
