Mom, The New York Times called me a Changemaker! Unreal. Super excited to have been named a Changemaker by the NYT ♥️ As part of this honor, I will be leading a discussion at the annual NY Climate Week Climate Forward Summit. My session will delve into the status of funding / general support for youth-led climate movements and how we can better resource emerging leaders and organizations. As an ED of a leading Black youth-led climate organization, I’m excited to share my insights on how supporting youth strengthens our collective capacity to build the strongest climate team possible. I recently met with other 776 Climate Fellows in Austin, Texas, where we gathered to exchange ideas and energize our collective mission to combat climate change. This journey was made even more remarkable by the presence of Alexis Ohanian Sr. co-founder of Reddit, and Elisabeth Garvin, our Program Director of the 776 Fellowship. A true highlight was meeting Joe G. co-founder of Airbnb, whose insights were incredibly inspiring. This fellowship is more than a grant- it's a robust network of changemakers, and I'm grateful to be a part of it. A little more than 4 years ago I started the path of startups hand in hand with MEDU Protection many know how I started: motivated by the fact that my family was protected, where I quickly became obsessed with the solution with the greatest impact. Throughout this time it has become a dream that several people have built, a dream to make this world a much better place and to see that sustainable business is the future. This year 776 Foundation joins as part of our journey, part of Alexis Ohanian Sr. work to make the world an even better place.
