He began his journey with AA Asphalting 34 years ago as a laborer and has since advanced through roles as a foreman and superintendent, leading to his current position as a Project Manager. Matt has truly valued the people he’s met along the way, the consistent utility work, and the challenges that come with it. His advice for anyone starting their career? Keep a positive mindset, work hard, and ask questions. Don’t stop until you find the answers—if one person doesn’t know, keep asking until you solve it. The AA Asphalting team had an amazing time on Saturday volunteering at the American Lake Townhomes site with Tacoma/Pierce County Habitat for Humanity! We're grateful for everything Habitat does for the community and for the opportunity to be part of it!

✨ Employee Spotlight ✨ Say hello to Bruce! He joined us in January 1989 as a laborer, earning the special title of employee #4. From his very first day, Bruce has been a key part of our journey, growing from laborer to foreman, to one of our Senior Estimators. Bruce values the strong relationships he’s built over the years and finds it amazing to have witnessed our transformation from a small company into what we are today—while still keeping that close-knit, small-company feel. Thank you, Bruce, for being a part of our legacy!

Crew 36 had an exciting project today! Tacoma/Pierce County Habitat for Humanity is doing incredible work for the community by providing affordable housing to families and they are currently building a triplex in South Tacoma. We were fortunate to contribute by working on the driveways and sidewalks for these homes. A big thank you to Miles Sand & Gravel Company for supplying the concrete, and to Habitat for Humanity for allowing us to be part of such a meaningful project! 

⚾ One thing we love at AA Asphalting is catching a Tacoma Rainiers game—but this last one was extra special. We had the honor of celebrating Ross and his remarkable 19 years with us as he heads into retirement. Thank you, Ross, for everything!

🎒 ✏ We're excited to share that alongside our back-to-school drive, we invited our employees to nominate teachers in their lives who could benefit from classroom supplies. Thanks to our team we were able to create care packages filled with essential supplies to help these teachers start the school year off right! A huge thank you to all the amazing teachers making a difference every day!

📚 ✏ And that’s a wrap on our Back-To-School Drive! We are incredibly grateful to our employees for their generous donations. At AA Asphalting, our mission is to make life’s journey smoother for our communities, and our team truly brings that mission to life. Every donation went to a school district or organization near our multiple yards. Here’s to an amazing school year ahead!

📚 ✏  We're thrilled to announce our back-to-school drive, happening from August 5th to 19th! We're gathering new and unused school supplies to donate to a local school or organization in need. Our team members have been incredibly generous in our previous drives, and we can't wait to see the amazing contributions for students this time around!

That’s a wrap on our Pet Food Drive! We are incredibly proud of our team and the generous donations to pets in need. Contributions were given to the Sumner Food Bank, Issaquah Food Bank & Spanaway Lutheran Church. Thank you all!
