🚙 Our Claims department recently donated its 48th refurbished vehicle as part of the nationwide Recycled Rides program. A vehicle from our salvage facilities was refurbished by employees at Ben Clymer’s The Body Shop, then donated to a local family that the body shop selects from several applicants. The latest recipient was a mother of four who was forced to put her education on hold when her car broke down and a death in the family impacted finances. This donation was featured in a news story on KABC-TV Los Angeles and included an interview with Claims Group Manager Marie Turner. Through Recycled Rides, we aim to provide dozens of additional refurbished vehicles to those in need throughout our territories, bringing the total number of donated vehicles to 100 by the end of this year. ❤️

🔋🚘While Electric Vehicles (EVs) have established themselves as the expected future of automobiles, one concern rears its head in opposition: If electric vehicles are to surpass that of hybrids or traditional combustion engines in popularity, consumers must be on board with the switch. 👩🔬📝Our most recent consumer survey on electric vehicles found a stark and surprising trend in consumer behaviors and beliefs towards EVs. 🪫📉Specifically, the likelihood of purchasing an EV went down over 5% from 2023-24. 🙅🚙The number of consumers who find it unlikely or impossible to own an EV in the future is rapidly growing because of several common factors. Issues such as the lack of charging capabilities at home, the shorter ranges of EVs, and the lack of convenient charging options while on the road have all been cited by consumers during our survey. Do not count EVs out, though! Manufacturers are aware of these issues and are working diligently to ensure that an electric vehicle is an option for all, not the few.

When Hurricane Beryl tore through the Caribbean and Texas, our media spokespeople sprang into action to get timely information in front of impacted travelers, drivers, and homeowners. Clay Ingram, our AAA Alabama Public Relations Manager, found himself conducting several interviews focused on traffic safety and the value of travel insurance during the week Berly was raging. As the storm headed for Texas, our AAA Texas spokespeople, as well as our Corporate Communications and Public Affairs Specialists, got on the air to promote trip insurance, as well as discuss road safety and insurance information on top of conducting media interviews on travel and safety during Hurricane Beryl. Doug Shupe was also interviewed live on local station Fox 26 KRIV about the dangers of flooded vehicles and what damage is covered by insurance.

🏘️♾️ Community Unity Day is a day of action that offers employees from our Human Resources team a fun, meaningful way to connect and improve our communities across the U.S. in a single day. ⭐🗓️ Our Texas Human Resources team participated in supporting Trusted World, a partner organization to United Way of Metropolitan Texas that provides wraparound assistance and services, including nutritional support, clothing, and personal care items. 👷📦 Our teams sorted and prepared donated clothing items, earning an enthusiastic thank-you from the charity, which noted that just one volunteer sorting clothes for an hour helps clothe up to 10 people!

📣 DID YOU KNOW ⁉️ 🍽️ From June 17-21, our employees donated generously to our Virtual Food Drive, which supports food banks and pantries during the summer when the need is greatest. 🖥️ Because the drive was virtual, money went directly to the local food bank or affiliated charity supporting them. ✅ This is a much easier and more efficient way to give, plus it lets food banks purchase the items they need most in bulk. 💸 How did we do? 2,600 employees raised more than $13,105 in just one week! This translated into more than 131,000 meals for people in our communities experiencing food insecurity.

This past week saw our Texas Total Loss Team collaborating with Empowering the Masses (ETM), a community partner of United Way of Metropolitan Dallas to organize a volunteer event to support Dallas families in need. Volunteers aided ETM with preparation for their Saturday Drive Through Market that distributes meals to families and individuals experiencing food insecurity. Volunteers helped over 500 families receive the food and groceries they needed. Through MyClubCares our employees have been empowered to make a significant contribution to our surrounding communities.
