What should you know about Executive Order GA-46? Everyone deserves to access medical care in emergency situations. Let’s protect each other’s rights and health by declining to answer questions about immigration status when seeking medical care. Policies such as these can cause uncertainty or fear in various communities and deter immigrants from accessing the healthcare they need, have a right to, and deserve. Public & community health involves us all. The well-being of our neighbors doesn't exist in isolation from our own. Ensuring access to healthcare for everyone benefits all Texans.

"In Texas, there are more than 5,000 certified community health workers, along with many others working without certification. All are on the front lines of health care to serve our most vulnerable populations. Unfortunately, community health workers remain on the fringes of public health. With less than 3% of U.S. health care expenditures going to public health and disease prevention, these positions are often grant-funded, contributing to a lack of sustainable recruitment, training, professional development and career pathways." https://lnkd.in/gA365uBJ

I'm excited to share that we had a productive meet-and-greet with Asian American & Pacific Islander community leaders last weekend. I'm particularly grateful for the support from my colleagues Hailey Easley at AACHI and Council Members Alison Alter, Zo Qadri, and Chito Vela. This collaboration is crucial as we work to break down healthcare barriers and create culturally sensitive care environments. It's an honor to lead these efforts, not just as President & CEO of Central Health, but also as a proud member of the AAPI community.
Central Health President & CEO Dr. Patrick Lee had a productive time at the Asian American & Pacific Islander community leaders meet-and-greet, last weekend. With the support from our AAPI community leaders, we are looking forward to exploring new ways to serve and engage with this vibrant community @koreanculturalcenter.austin @aachi.tx
