Along with AANA, more than 260 healthcare and community organizations are calling on Congress to pass the ICAN Act. This legislation will allow CRNAs to order and refer medically necessary services, permanently remove unnecessary physician supervision under Medicare, promote payment parity in the teaching rules, ensure proper reimbursement for CRNAs to provide quality anesthesia and pain management for patients in Medicare, and provide access to CRNA services in Medicaid. https://lnkd.in/ee456J9v

Yesterday, I had the opportunity to represent the CRNA profession and National University at the Capitol in Sacramento, California, during CANA Lobby Day. Two bills that we discussed with senators were AB 876 and AB 1215, which aim to enhance anesthesia care quality and access by clarifying the Nurse Anesthetist Act and ensuring CRNA representation on medical boards to prevent service disruptions. It is imperative that we persist in advocating for our profession and upholding the fundamental principles that define it.
