Precursor Radiographic Findings in Patients With Medication-related Osteonecrosis of the Jaw Imaging taken prior to tooth extraction may help predict risk factors for medication-related osteonecrosis of the jaw (MRONJ) allowing practitioners to employ preventative techniques, according to a new study from the Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Researchers said tooth extraction alone is not likely to cause MRONJ. However, an infection in the alveolar bone at the time of extraction has been identified as a risk factor. https://lnkd.in/gN5mPwkV
