Miriam O'Day, AARC Senior Vice President of Government Affairs recently gave a statement to the Federal Drug Administration (FDA) Office of Tobacco Control on Advancing Smoking Cessation: FDA and NIH Priorities. She provided key testimony on the importance of RTs as a patient, clinical trial, and product development resource. "RTs play a critical role in supporting the FDA’s tobacco control efforts, particularly in smoking cessation research. RTs are on the frontlines of patient care, treating individuals with respiratory diseases often caused or worsened by smoking. This gives them valuable insight into smoking cessation, clinical trials, and tobacco control strategies," said O'Day.
