We recently announced that Abdo is expanding to Salt Lake City, Utah! One of our Utah team members that we want to introduce is Senior Manager John Juntunen, CPA. John joined Abdo in 2018 and moved to Salt Lake City three years ago. In that time, he has fully embraced the state's outdoor lifestyle, enjoying activities like wakeboarding, biking, hiking, golfing, and mountain adventures. An experienced business tax accountant, John is passionate about solving business challenges and helping owners achieve their goals. It's a wrap on another successful Minnesota State SHRM Council State Conference! This year's theme to nurture kindness, cultivate optimism, and ignite hope resonated with our team of Abdo HR professionals. At our booth, we crafted personalized bracelets with inspirational words such as 'breathe,' 'balance,' and 'faith', to share positivity with attendees. Blue skies and warm fall weather welcomed shooters at two recent sporting clay events, proudly supported by #TeamAbdo. Our sponsorship helped raise funds for both the Twin Valley Council, benefiting Scouting in southern Minnesota, and the Minnesota River Builders Association Education Fund, which supports trades and construction educational opportunities for students and schools. We were happy to participate! 

This week, Abdo’s DEI Committee announced a brand new initiative: Community Resource Groups (CRGs). These voluntary, community-led spaces are designed to foster conversations and shared goals among employees with similar characteristics, life experiences, or identities. We are thrilled to begin this exciting journey of enhancing our Abdo community through meaningful connection. Our first CRGs available for employees to join include: 🗺 Explore: Employees focus on discovering businesses, locations, and experiences that celebrate local and international cultures. Build connections for future partnership projects and events. ✨ Kaleidoscope: Employees experience an intersectional resource group that promotes awareness around employee experiences from various racial backgrounds, ethnic identities, gender identities, sexual orientations, and cultural backgrounds. ❤️ Care: Support for Abdo employees who act as caretakers, whether it's for children, the elderly, animals, or natural environments.
