Your big kid needs a booster. Yes, really.

I see you. You’re at the park trying to keep your kids together. You’re at work wondering how you’re going to pick up kids, make dinner, and get to bed at a reasonable time. You’re constantly planning, organizing, and participating in your kids’ lives. It can be so easy to lose ourselves in motherhood. After all, our kids are the best! But just remember–moms are people, too!

If you grew up in Albuquerque, I imagine you took a school field trip to El Rancho de las Golodrinas in fifth grade. If the last time you visited included a ride on a school bus and a brown bag lunch complete with smashed PB&J, you could stand to take a second look yourself. This time you can bring your own kids with you.

We know it can get pricey very quickly when taking the entire family out to eat. Sometimes parents need a break from doing it all, but we also need a break in our wallets. So, we have gathered all the places in the Albuquerque area that let kids eat free (or close to it)!

Before becoming a mom, I thought confidence would be something easy to teach. Somehow, in my mind, it would be simple. I would tell my kids they’re brilliant, strong, smart, beautiful, brave, and . . . BOOM. They would believe me. However, four years into motherhood, I’m realizing it’s a bit more complex than that.

We are honored to partner with NM Dream Center as they continue their incredible work in making Albuquerque a safer, more supportive place for vulnerable populations. Their impact is inspiring, and we’re grateful to contribute to their mission. We were also thrilled to represent ABQ Mom at the NM Dream Center’s annual Breakfast of Champions fundraiser! Our staff and contributors had a wonderful time connecting with the community, learning more about NM Dream Center’s initiatives, and supporting this important cause.

When I was pregnant, I was sure I was going to breastfeed. But when my son arrived, he didn’t latch. I was determined to give him breast milk. So I started pumping early on. He is now almost three months old, and pumping has become part of my daily routine. Here are some hacks and help that have made my life a bit easier as a pumping mama.

When we found out we were having our third boy, I cried. Not right away. I managed (barely) to hold it together for the rest of the ultrasound and the doctor’s appointment that followed it. But when I got in the car, I lost it.

People often discuss red flags when referring to a new friendship or relationship. The focus is on the warning signs and what to look out for when meeting new people. While these are very valid concerns, it can be helpful to shift your mindset to what you would like to see in a relationship. What about green flag friends?

If you would have told my 21-year-old self to do my makeup in 10 minutes, I would have laughed. Now as a busy mama of almost four, I have mastered the 10-minute makeup look.
