The Abundant Harvest Kitchen and Bistro’s 2024 Veteran Honoree Dinner was a perfect night! Period. (Long post. Don’t be intimidated) Air Force Col. (ret) Mike Thomson couldn’t have felt more loved. His 27-year career leading more than 120,000 people and managing a 1.2B budget was celebrated with as much affection as the 20+ years he spent transforming his community during his “retirement.” A co-founder and CFO for #AbundantHarvest, Mike’s work has mattered! He’s helped solve food insecurity for hundreds of thousands of families - many of which were veterans. Thank you Houston Regional Veterans Chamber of Commerce who showed up in spades! John Cacolice, Lou Rosado Jr., Michael Goodrich … your presence was felt and loved. City of Houston Mayor's Office of Veterans & Military Affairs and LaShondra Jones, PhD … your certificate of appreciation underscored Mike’s continued value in the #VeteranCommunity. Kathleen Merchant and Eric Beveridge, nothing about last night could have been possible without your support. Your contributions made the night possible and your charm made the evening enjoyable. Brandon Harris’ mobile cigar lounge gave the event a level of sophistication many don’t achieve. Thank you to all! We focused our strengths to a common goal and celebrated a man that deserved it. Great work. We all did such great work. It was pretty amazing. VEL Institute’s recent #lunchandlearn featured a fantastic conversation on personal finances and how they form the foundation of a successful business led by financial phenom Lou Rosado Jr. The Marine veteran laid out some pretty hard truths to the dozen or so attending, providing a great ramp to next month’s April 10th #lunchandlearn featuring his good friend Michael Goodrich who is going to lay out how to take your business to new heights. Amazing series all free of charge. Food was/is provided by Abundant Harvest Kitchen and Bistro who built the perfect Harvest Salad for the event. These cabanas are a great way to enjoy this amazing festival which features Dwight Yoakam, Billy Strings, Dierks Bentley, Thomas Rhett and many, many more. * Custom hats made by #TravisAustin * World class artists and muralists creating live works of art. * A chainsaw woodcarver * Equestrian and barrel racing Dozens of non-profits are allowed to setup free booths to help raise awareness, which is pretty unheard of. You can enjoy the festival using a VIP experience, Cabana for 10-30 people and there are furnished campers/RVs also on site. It still amazes me … When you put the right people in front of the right cause, they light up. The same goes for talent. Country recording artist and #magnoliatx native #TrentCowie (check him out on Spotify) toured Abundant Harvest Kitchen and Bistro and the PTSD Foundation Of America’s #CampHope to understand our missions better. As a performer at the #BigAsTexas country music and food festival coming to #MOCO May 10-12, he’s going to help push resources back into the local non-profit world. Countless non-profits will benefit from the festival’s outreach mission much the same combat veterans at Camp Hope benefited from Cowie’s wonderful talent, shared around the fire pit during his visit. Compelling Reinforcement of My Purpose: Real-Life Examples That Drive My Actions I don’t always want to try so hard. Then I see people like my former Camp Hope roommate and Navy shipmate Chief Petty Officer Zach, and I’m reminded of the value. He went through his stages of combat trauma alone. We went through the PTSD Foundation Of America restoration process together. It changed us for the better and people like he and I are out there. We are taking what we learned and making the world better one veteran, one idea at a time. Alone we break. Together we grow. Zach is just one example. We need your help to continue. Come tour our campus and learn how you can help reduce veteran suicide and provide hope to people like US Navy Seal, Chief Petty Officer Zach.

Crushed it! We put our food and mission in the hands of thousands of people tonight thanks to Taste of The Woodlands held at the Waterway Marriott and hosted by the The Woodlands Area Chamber of Commerce. We visited with current partners and made a lot of new friends! The Abundant Harvest Kitchen were loved by those in attendance.
