We brought some extra FUN to the Magic City of Birmingham with the grand opening of our 16th store in Alabama. To kick off the weekend, 20 kids from the Boys & Girls Club of Central Alabama each had a $200 gift card to shop for their favorite gear! We appreciate our partnership with the Boys & Girls Club and donated an additional $1,000 to the organization to continue the incredible work they do for our communities. Now serving Selma, NC! We officially opened our 17th store in North Carolina and our 289th Academy Sports + Outdoors store in our footprint. It wouldn’t be an Academy Grand Opening weekend without giving back to our newest community! Sixteen kids from the Boys & Girls Club of Wayne County were some of the first customers to shop our new store with their own $200 gift card each. We also donated nearly $2,000 to the organization to ensure a fun time for all. Our Katy Distribution Center celebrated an appreciation week to recognize the hard work of their Distribution Center Team Members. All week long, Team Members were treated with ice cream, popcorn, brisket tacos, and more, and they also tried their luck at an exciting prize wheel!! Our Katy DC is the largest of our 3 distribution centers and services 122 of our nearly 300 stores. We are so grateful for their dedication to help our customers have fun out there! At Academy Sports + Outdoors, through good or tough times, we strive to take care of the communities we serve. Hurricane Helene heavily impacted the southeastern U.S., which covers a large portion of our footprint. Our stores in Valdosta, GA, Aiken, SC, Greenville, SC, and Johnson City, TN, quickly acted to provide relief to some of our affected communities. In total, our Team Members handed out over 145,000 bottles of clean water. Our Team Members are a priority to us, and we provide disaster relief funds to Academy Team Members who need financial assistance to navigate the road toward recovery. TWO new Academy Sports + Outdoors stores opening on the SAME weekend! 🙌🙌 Please join us in welcoming Kingsport, TN + Bloomington, IN, our 5th and 6th new stores of the year! As always, our Team Members and customers had a lot of fun out there throughout the Grand Opening weekend! We donated a total of $5,000 to the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Kingsport as well as $5,000 to the Boys & Girls Club of Bloomington. Hellooooo, Beckley, West Virginia!! 🤗 We’re thrilled to open our second store in the Wild and Wonderful Mountain state of West Virginia. ⛰️🚵 The Grand Opening weekend helped more customers gear up for more adventures! We partnered with the YMCA of Southern West Virginia to gift 15 local youth with their very own shopping spree up to $250 each.
