The primary driver for AI adoption, a recent report by SAP shows, is the imperative to automate repetitive and time-consuming tasks. 32% of respondents choose that answer. #VisualInspection is the definition of a repetitive and time-consuming task and one AI is especially well-suited to perform that task. The Accella Quality Box was designed to perform highly accurate, fast and reliable visual inspection 24/7 helping companies to improve#QualityControl and enhancing operational efficiency by making it possible to reallocate people to higher-value tasks that can improve productivity and competitiveness. https://lnkd.in/gJwKWGuW

If you haven't implemented AI on the shopfloor yet you are not alone. All the more reason to get started with the process now and eke out a competitive advantage. https://lnkd.in/gt_gV7TU
Interesting data point from our talk at the AME International Conference yesterday: we had ca. 80 - 90 attendees and asked upfront how many people have AI implemented on the shopfloor already. How many hands went up? Have a guess. I'll wait .... .... ..... ...... The answer is: one! It's time to change this and we are working on it. 👉🏼 There is so much AI can do to make shopfloor operations better, faster and cheaper: https://lnkd.in/gWQ_QVM5 👉🏼 Visual inspection is a great first use case: very fast implementation and ROI. https://lnkd.in/gk_czYmb 👉🏼 Here is an old but goodie about transitioning manufacturing to industry 4.0 https://lnkd.in/eNka2afs #Manufacturing #SmartManufacturing #AI #VisualInspection #Industry40

Our CEO Uli Palli and Niran Audimoolam are co-presenting at the 2024 AME International Conference in Atlanta next week. If you are attending, make sure to catch their presentation "Substitution and augmentation: How AI helps humans work better, faster and smarter" on Wednesday 10/30 at 10:45 am - lots of insights from implementing AI solutions on the shopfloor. #AI #ManufacturingExcellence

Build in-house or buy? That's an age-old question and relevant for AI solutions just as much as for any other. Here are our thoughts about whether you should build or buy an AI-based visual inspection solution for the shopfloor. #AI #Manufacturing #VisualInspection #BuildorBuy

One of the biggest challenges in visual inspection are products with critical surface finishes and tight dimensional tolerances. AI is ideally suited for this task. Here is our use case showing how we detect very small defects on reflective Class A surfaces: https://lnkd.in/gyhCG5Gf #AI #VisualInspection #Manufacturing

If you are looking to implement #AI on the shopfloor in manufacturing our advice is: get off the gen AI hype cycle and stick with what works: classical AI. Gen AI's time will come, for now, it's important to successfully deploy AI to solve real problems e.g. in visual inspection. Classical AI is the tool for that. https://lnkd.in/gFxvNFTc #manufacturing #VisualInspection #GenAI #HypeCycle

A recent article in SupplyChainBrain stated integration as one of the major AI adoption challenges for manufacturers 👉🏼 "Legacy systems that don’t mesh well with AI include enterprise resource planning, material requirements planning and manufacturing execution systems." We recognized this as a problem form the start and made sure our Accella AI Bot integrates with ERP, MES, QMS solutions as well as all standard PLCs. #AI #Manufacturing #VisualInspection #PLC #Integration Source: https://lnkd.in/eBHTd696

You want your AI implementation roadmap resemble a paint by the numbers image rather than being inspired by Jackson Pollock. In this post our CEO and "Chief AI Geek" explains why. https://lnkd.in/g3hsh6ni #AI #Manufacturing #AIRoadmap #AIimplementation
Don’t create a “Jackson Pollock of AI” - is a warning I just read in an article (link below) This is a very evocative way of saying: think about your AI roadmap and carefully select your first use case for a pilot rather than start “doing something with AI” and then adding more AI projects in a scattered way. In our experience AI implementations are the most successful if: ✳️ the first use case is relatively straightforward - rather than one that is trying to solve that one tricky problem that nobody has been able to solve in the last five years (nothing wrong with trying to solve tricky problems, but let’s not set up AI to fail from the start). ✳️ there is an internal champion who helps you clear the path e.g. somebody who will work with IT to give your AI solutions provider VPN access (lack of VPN access has delayed some of our projects by months) ✳️ you build a roadmap of the next AI projects based on that first - successful - implementation. These follow-on projects have to make business sense and now it’s also the time to start challenging AI a bit and planning to start cracking that tough problem. Regardless of whether you are a fan of Jackson Pollock’s art or not, what you want to create does not ressemble his chaotic (yet harmonious) images, but something that looks a lot more like a “paint by the numbers” landscape were you know where you are going and what you are doing next. #AI #Manufacturing #Roadmap #AIimplementation (Comment: both images are AI generated, no licenses were hurt in making this post!) https://lnkd.in/g2iUHgPK
