🌟 We thought it was about time, especially as ACE Laboratories is now in its 10th year, to spotlight our CEO and Founder Erick Sharp, whose vision, leadership and work ethic have transformed ACE Laboratories into a global leader in elastomer testing and development. Erick is well-known in the industry for his expertise and knowledge, yet he remains a young entrepreneur, and what he has accomplished in such a relatively short time we think is incredible! Before founding ACE Laboratories in 2014, Erick gained valuable experience working for leading companies in the United States and Europe, which gave him a unique understanding of the challenges within the rubber and silicone industries. He set out to build an independent testing laboratory that approached things differently - one that not only addressed current challenges but also anticipated future testing and development needs. This forward-thinking approach fueled our rapid growth, leading to our move to a much larger facility in Ravenna, Ohio, just two years after our founding. We earned ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation in 2018 and quickly gained a reputation for delivering practical, fast, and cost-effective solutions to meet the demands of an ever-changing industry. Today our team of highly skilled #rubbernerds blends youthful energy with seasoned expertise and thrives under Erick’s leadership, which is defined by approachability, clarity, simplicity and humor, creating such a positive and productive environment for both our team and customers. Meet Kylie Knipp, our amazing Senior Technical Account Manager at ACE Laboratories! With a Bachelor's in Chemical Engineering from The University of Akron and over a decade of experience in the rubber industry, Kylie has brought a wealth of knowledge and boundless enthusiasm to our team since joining us in early 2023. Her passion for the world of polymers is evident in everything she does, whether developing compounds for customers in the lab or getting involved with community and student outreach to champion the importance of rubber in everyday life and encourage careers in the industry. She also regularly teaches Rubber Division, ACS training courses, making complex testing methods and data interpretation accessible for newcomers and sales professionals alike. Recognized as one of Rubber News "Women Breaking the Mold" in 2023, Kylie manages all this while raising three young children - always with a smile!
