Thank you Upasana Dasgupta for including us Numer8 and ClimaCrew in this significant step of space and sustainability. Thank you for sharing our work with the larger world, ACES Worldwide, and all experts in the ecosystem. Currently, there is very little mainstream dialogue around the use of space data in downstream applications, especially contributing to bottom-up decentralized developments at the grassroots. SDG's being the broad goal, the need of the hour is to map those SDG's in a localised context for the community in focus, addressing climate resilience and sustainability for actors on the ground. The program "LDCs for NDCs" run by our climate partner and partner to our compact agreement INECC focuses on exactly this- Locally Developed Changes to Nationally Determined Contributions. What a discussion at the Science Summit United Nations General Assembly-79 on #Space as a #GlobalCommons and #LunarResourceGovernance! Thanks to ACES Worldwide for supporting a wonderful discussion at the #SSUNGA79 hosting the "Magnificent 7" in a panel on 'The principle of Space as a commons to govern activities on the Moon and use of lunar resources' 💟 Glad to be a part of the 'Magnificent 7'. Thanks to Andrew Y. Lee, Ian Crawford, Dennis O'Brien, George Kyriakopoulos for their detailed insights. Shoutout to the efforts of convenor, Vidvuds Beldavs and moderator, Marlène M. Losier, PhD, JD and the support from Cielomar Puccio in making the session a success. Thanks to all our audience who shared their questions beforehand and joined for the live session online on the 20th of September 2024. ✅️ It was humbling to get an opportunity to share some pointers on the perspectives of the #GlobalSouth on Lunar Resource Governance taking case studies of #India, #China and #Pakistan. It is a part of our ongoing work from LIFE-To & Beyond Foundation® with our collegues, Thiago S. Dias from #Brazil, Rihab Ben Moussa from #Tunisia and Subhajit Hazra from #India. 🚀 We the Manificent 7 look forward to gearing up for the #MoonSummit 2028 as envisioned by Vidvuds Beldavs to foster fruitful discussions on Lunar resource governance. Achieving global cooperation on Earth can be difficult but governance of lunar activities appears to be resolvable in mutual agreement with the interests of spacefaring states, developing countries, and future. The agreement on a legal framework for governance of activities on the Moon has been awaited for decades and such a progressive development may help unblock agreement on other problems.
