August 26 is #InternationalDogDay! Like many teams in many fields, several of us at #actcenterorg get through life's ups and downs with #dogs at our side. The human-canine relationship is one that dates so far back in the shared narrative of both our species that our microbiomes have #coevolved in tandem. Substantial research has identified #mentalhealth and #physicalhealth benefits for both humans and dogs when they live together. Increasingly, #healthcare #research looks to our canine friends for clues on how to improve human #wellness, demonstrating the interconnectedness of #humanhealth with #vetmed in the growing field of #OneHealth.
