Owned and operated by Karena Wu, PT, ActiveCare is an outpatient private practice located in midtown Manhattan. You deserve the best Physical Therapy and our clinical team's goal is to provide you with the best techniques, the most up-to-date treatment and the best Physical Therapists available. ACPT's Physical Therapists focus on manual therapies and sports-specific rehabilitation.   • Dr. Karena Wu, Physical Therapist and Board-Certified Clinical Specialist in Orthopedic Physical Therapy joins the Today Show again during this week's Sleep Series. Dr. Wu discusses a few tips and tricks to decompress before you get out of bed. She teaches how to traction or lengthen the neck and turn on the shoulder blade muscles on your upper back to reduce aches and pains in the neck and shoulders. Dr. Wu then describes a pelvic tilt to stretch the low back area and a gluteal, or hip stretch to lengthen the hip muscles and reduce compression in the low back spine and hip.     Dr. Karena Wu is the Medical Director for America's elite professional beach volleyball tournament series, the Association of Volleyball Professionals, or the AVP. Dr. Wu has worked with the AVP since the early 200's in New York and New Jersey. She became a board member in 2014 and subsequently Medical Director from 2016 on. Karena Wu has traveled with the AVP to their tournament stops nationwide to provide the best medical care for the AVP athletes. She oversees the multi-disciplinary medical tent of physicians, physical therapists, chiropractors, athletic trainers and acupuncturists that are staffed locally at each stop to ensure a smooth transition of care and the best quality of care from each healthcare provider.
