About us
AdaptAVet.org delivers a barrier free living environment for disabled U.S. Veterans through adaptation and modifications. ” What Freedom Feels Like in their Own Homes” ™ There are unmet needs of home adaptations for Texas disabled veterans. Many live in homes that are not adapted for everyday activities such as getting in the shower, preparing meals and gaining home access, adversely impacting the Veteran and their family’s quality of life. Through our compassionate and respectful adaptation process, these Veterans can live more fruitful lives and focus on their future. In addition, changes to the home can also be made to assist the veteran if a service animal is required. When Roxann and Michael Cotugno, founders of Adapt a Vet, discovered that there were over 211,256 disabled veterans living the Alamo Region who needed home adaptations, they knew they had to help this population. Based on their respect for these heroes, Roxann and Mike brought together their skills in nonprofit management and construction to create an organization to effect the homes, and lives, of our brave. Adapt A Vet is a 501(C)(3) organization
