#CSRDTuesday: The European Sustainability Reporting Standard (ESRS) requires companies to report on 10 ESG topics, such as climate change, biodiversity, human rights, etc. These standards include disclosures on governance processes and strategy, policies to manage material topics, and performance metrics for measuring progress. There are two cross-cutting standards within the ESRS: ➡️ESRS 1, which are the general requirements that provide basis on how reports must be prepared and defines how sustainability information must be collected and presented. It also requires individual standards to be subjected to a materiality assessment, a key requirement of the #CSRD overall. ➡️ESRS 2, which specifies general characteristics and information such as policies, measures and objectives that must be reported regardless of the outcome of the materiality assessment. It also specifies the structure and content for the #ESRS topical standards on governance, strategy, management of impacts, and more. The CSRD implements the ESRS standards which are continuously evolving, with this companies need to stay updated and be prepared for these upcoming regulatory standards.
