Thrilled to share that Architectural Products has featured Adept Materials' climate-regulating paint and primer system in their September-October 2024 issue! Get a preview of some the unique technology that will become commercially available in 2025. Stay tuned for the launch of our paint brand that will activate the walls of your home! The article features other amazing companies PowerStack Energy, Shift Thermal, EcoClosure LLC, RainStick, The Hemp Building Company, and Cumulus, who are all pushing the built environment toward net zero. Like all of them, Adept benefitted immensely from the USGBC California Net Zero Accelerator. Hats off to Colin Mangham and Ben Stapleton for their energy and leadership! #sustainability #netzero #design https://lnkd.in/eyYVwcbw

Expect innovation in construction to come from Kajima. Their remarkable talent, sense of mission, and openness to collaboration were on full display during a recent visit.
I recently had the privilege of visiting Kajima's headquarters, Technical Center, and a job site in Tokyo, where I learned so much from my conversations with their amazing team. It was inspiring to see the hunger for innovation that drives their operations—an energy that remarkably springs from the 現場 (job site) itself. This visit has deepened my understanding of the challenges builders face and sharpened my focus on the areas where Adept Materials' technology can help overcome them. A heartfelt thank you to all our gracious hosts for their warmth and valuable insights. Special thanks to Yuji Doi, Akihiro MANDA, and Ryosuke ISHIBASHI for facilitating the interactions with their colleagues at Kajima. Neda Hannah Sohrabi, Leonardo Rocchetti and Junichi Ikegaya from Plug and Play did a fantastic job bringing the event together. Finally, I tip my hat to Sravanth Gadikota, Tiffany Yeh, MD, Alejandro Ruiz Lara, Zach Laberge, Brett Skinner, and all the other entrepreneurs I had the pleasure to meet in Japan. #ConstructionInnovation #TechnologyInConstruction #Collaboration #InnovationInAction

Adept Materials has been selected to participate in Third Derivative, a program designed to accelerate innovation toward climate solutions. Third Derivative was created by the Rocky Mountain Institute (RMI) and has supported many of the most promising companies working toward climate solutions. Adept Materials is developing responsive materials that solve moisture problems in buildings. This is an underappreciated piece of the climate puzzle because moisture management affects the durability and operational efficiency of buildings, in addition to the human concerns of comfort and health. Buildings are becoming more efficient thanks to improvements in insulation, air sealing, and HVAC equipment; however, as buildings get better at trapping air and heat, they also get better at trapping moisture, which has perverse effects. Humidity control is a growing source of operational carbon emissions, while material damage due to mold and rot increases a building’s embodied carbon footprint over the life-cycle.
