    Hats off to Ben Schreiber, Dylan Ander, Troy Osinoff, Jim Jannuzzio, Dan Pantelo, Nik Sharma & the rest of the EcomFounders.com team for putting together an EPIC summit last week! I had a chance to stream the sessions -- the execution was flawless, & the content was incredible. The line-up was chock-full of industry heavy hitters like: - 🚚 Harley Finkelstein (Shopify) - 🚚 Daniel Winer (Hexclad) - 🚚 Keith Rabois (OpenStore) - 🚚 Sandra Campos (PetMeds) - 🚚 & many, many more!     Congrats to Hamid Saify & the Lucky Beverage Co. team on the close of their ~$12M oversubscribed Series A funding round, which brings their total funding to ~$27M. If you haven't heard the story behind this brand, maybe you should sit down for this one. The founder of the company -- Richard Laver -- is lucky to be alive & this brand has an origin story that you won't soon forget: - Roughly 39 years ago, Richard was on Delta Air Lines Flight 191, which crash landed at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport. - As Flight 191 was on final approach during a summer storm, high winds hit the aircraft and pushed it into the ground well short of the runway. - The aircraft first sped up and then was slowed down by wind shear. As it veered off course, bouncing into a water tank and burst into flames. - The force of the explosion propelled Richard from his seat and into the nearby field. A piece of the jet had lacerated his stomach, he had second and third-degree burns, a fractured neck, broken arms and kneecaps, and a partially collapsed lung. - Nobody could believe that Richard was still alive. The crash killed 137 people, including his dad. He was the youngest survivor at just 12 years old. Richard defied all odds, and spent his entire life clawing his way back & fighting like hell to get to this point. So if you want to bet against this company? Go for it -- but do so at your own risk. And if you want to bet on this company? Too bad -- the round is oversubscribed. Keep your eyes on this company. They've assembled a world-class team & are moving quickly. If you're at NACS next week, be sure to swing by & say hello to them. And if you see them in-store at your local 7/11, I'd encourage to give them a try. It's a clean energy drink -- perhaps you use it to power creating some of your own luck.

    Unless you’ve been living under a rock, it has been hard to escape the chatter around the latest innovation from Glossier, Inc. — their smash-hit fragrance ‘Glossier You.’ ‘Glossier You’ went viral for eschewing the recognizability of mass-market scent culture by thoughtfully designing a product that smelled different from person-to-person based on their pheromones & body chemistries. As the name suggests, the personalization-at-scale product requires just one simple missing ingredient — You! When Glossier came to Adgile Media Group for our sixth campaign together, they wanted to design a campaign that matched the originality of their fragrance, and so that is exactly what we did. In a first-of-its-kind campaign, we partnered with Glossier to deliver a campaign that towed the line between faux-OOH and real-OOH. By starting with a reflective, chromatic base layer, followed by a larger-than-life Glossier You product shot, we were able to create an optical illusion that made it look as though giant Glossier You bottles were being towed around the city on a flatbed truck. If you saw this IRL, you did a double-take -- and odds are you had to rub your eyes to make sure what you were seeing was real. Leaning into the mobility of our assets, we topped the campaign off with a mid-cycle guerilla sampling activation outside the Barclay’s Center to support Glossier’s ongoing partnership with the WNBA (Women's National Basketball Association). The event was a hit, with a few viral social shares showing the “Glossier Girlies” out in full force. I’m so excited to see the Glossier team doubling down on their success with Glossier You by introducing two new fragrances to the world last week: Glossier Rêve and Glossier Doux. As Emily Weiss shared with ELLE Magazine, if the original Glossier You is a classic martini, the two newest scents — Glossier Rêve and Glossier Doux — are martinis with a twist. I’ve long admired Brooke Silverberg & the rest of the Glossier team’s continued desire to push us out of our comfort zone & stretch the limits of what we thought our media format was capable of. Three years into working together, and somehow -- every campaign, every call, every meeting -- it ends with “I’m not sure that is possible, but let me do some research to find out!”

    Lucky Beverage Co. is now available at 7-Eleven in Orange and San Diego counties and you'll see plenty of these trucks sliding around town. creatively - we wanted something disruptive, that tied to duct tape element on our cans censoring that very scary four-letter word your 5 year old probably uses. but honestly, i was just exhausted concepting for this and while driving in LA - saw an ad for Ritual that said "trace like a motherfuck..." with a big ritual pill covering it. and i yelled "what the f does that mean" - "f*** that ad" so that's that. we hope these trucks work! shouts to my homie Nick Nadeau for being patient with me. #ooh #cpg

    Week 3 of NFL being back in full-swing -- how is your fantasy team doing so far? I hope it is going a bit better than Ryan's season last year. As you can see here, his season last year was a total dumpster fire! I'll be honest, I did not expect "revenue from Fantasy punishments" to be a line item on our P&L when we first embarked on this venture, but alas, here we are.
