September is World Alzheimer’s Month, a global campaign designated to raise awareness and challenge the stigma surrounding Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia. The tag line for 2024 World Alzheimer’s Month is: Time to act on dementia, Time to act on Alzheimer’s. This month is a time to come together in support of all those affected with Alzheimer's and dementia, and better educate the public about the warning signs and symptoms, diagnosis, the importance of funding research, and proper treatment of this severe mental disorder. Adstra Nonprofit is very proud to be a longtime partner of the BrightFocus Foundation and all the wonderful work they do for Alzheimer's Disease Research (ADR). Their ADR program has funded nearly $60 million in research grants in the past five years alone, and currently supports 167 active scientific projects worldwide. BrightFocus Foundation has funded scientists around the world and have developed and tested thousands of hypotheses about how the disease destroys brain function over time. As part of this, they are investigating hundreds of ideas to diagnose, treat, cure, and prevent Alzheimer's and related dementias. #WorldAlzheimersMonth #nonprofits #Dementia
