About us
Adventist Health Columbia Gorge was founded in 1901 as a hospital located in a family’s home. We have grown to become a nationally recognized, comprehensive health system and one of the largest employers in Wasco County. From the very beginning, Adventist Health Columbia Gorge has been focused on ensuring that local residents have convenient access to the health care they need, when they need it, close to home. As our community has grown, we have grown with it through the expansion of services, the opening of convenient locations and the introduction of innovative programs that make sure that we are continually responding to the wants and needs of the people we serve.

We commend our team's dedication to serving our community amidst the recent winter storms.
When the recent ice storm forced schools, businesses and roads including I-84 to close, hospital doors stayed open. At Adventist Health Columbia Gorge in The Dalles, that meant nurses and other staff spent several nights sleeping at the hospital. They sacrificed time away from their families to put patients first, and they’re not alone. Hospital staff throughout Oregon did the same. We are grateful for their dedication!
