Within a few hours of trail time, energy resets. Away from the alerts, screens, and highways, the senses expand, creating space for exploration and presence. https://lnkd.in/eBDYeYfT The next Adventure Recovery Coach Training is happening in December. This event is for anyone seeking the core outdoor skills necessary to comfortably spend time outdoors, all year round. We keep groups small to ensure the necessary attention, support, and instruction needed. Most importantly, we cultivate sacred space to share unfettered moments in nature. This is why we go.

Our longtime friends and colleagues at PIVOTPoint WNC, in North Carolina, are working tirelessly to support their community during this time of need. We are sharing this far and wide to help them source facilitators, clinicians, and donations for the Asheville area. https://lnkd.in/esnXwB2w LINK for facilitators who are able to donate their time https://lnkd.in/e2GV8xAc Matt Nannis, Tim Walsh, Josh Flaherty, LMSW, Seth Gottlieb, Nathan Bennick

Welcome, new AR Lead Guide, Colorado, Liz Diss (McLean). Liz has a lifelong passion for the outdoors, and has translated her personal and professional experiences with trauma and mental health advocacy to her work. After graduating from the U.S. Air Force Academy in 2006, and obtaining her Master’s in Industrial Organizational Psychology, Liz served as a logistics readiness officer. Her career took her abroad to work as an event and travel coordinator for top military and civilian leaders, the State Department, and other esteemed politicians from around the globe. She has acted as a liaison between foreign embassies and the US government, forging ties to solidify international bonds. Liz joined the civilian human resources world in September 2011, working with both the military and civilian populace and has since worked in defense and corporate HR to create robust programs and collaborations between veterans and employers. In 2015 she launched the first-ever veteran consultation company for corporate hiring in the US, resulting in being named in Sacramento Business Journal’s “Top 40 Under 40” entrepreneurs in California in 2018. Liz is a retired professional Ironman triathlete, ultra-runner, mountaineer, climber, and proud representative for Ms. Veteran America. She is currently pursuing further education in trauma therapy and works placing veterans into careers with the Military Veteran. We are thrilled to have Liz share her expertise as one of the AR Crew! 💙✨🙏

We are thrilled to share a deeper continuum for AR clients: Navigator. https://lnkd.in/ezQqDApG This cohesive model ensures individual clients and family members have access to a full range of support services, creating deeper accountability and increased efficacy. “Embracing an adventure mindset and living an outdoor lifestyle creates community and ignites sustainable and often profound changes within. These shifts occur rapidly when we experience the awe-inspiring and inescapable power of nature as teacher and healer. This is why we go." — Tim Walsh, Founder, Adventure Recovery #adventurediscovery #mentalhealth #outside #adventurerecovery Josh Flaherty, LMSW Nathan Bennick Seth Gottlieb Rourke Weaver

September is National Recovery Month. When we were out there, struggling with destructive behaviors, we felt alone, isolated, and without hope. But today, we have found a path to healthy living that truly works. These smiles say it all. Together, we can live a life beyond our wildest dreams. This is why we go. 💙 #nationalrecoverymonth #mentalhealth #recoverymonth #addictionrecovery #mentalhealthmatters #recoveryispossible #outside #recoveryourspirit #adventurerecovery

One of our favorite events of the year is coming up—the annual Showdown on the Sound. Each year, we partner with Liberation Programs, Inc., to fundraise and participate. https://lnkd.in/eerNgSKS This epic community event, sponsored by Shatterproof, is designed to increase awareness and funding for prevention, treatment, and recovery, in honor Michael Taylor, who was lost far too young. Addiction needs to be addressed with empathy and love. Michael was full of both. Since 2017, Showdown has raised over $1 million as a commitment to social change. If you’re in New England on October 5th, please feel free to join. It’s a celebration of connection. Daniel M. Walsh, OLY, Tim Walsh, Josh Flaherty, LMSW

Four friends in a boat. 💙 Sharing a recent moment with AR clients who are near and dear to our hearts. When we choose an adventure together, we create a sacred space for shared intention, collaborative communication, and lifelong connection. These are life-affirming experiences, calling us to be part of this world. September is national recovery month. Recovery traditionally references alcohol or drugs. The word means a great deal to us as an organization because the truth is, we are all recovering—from pain, trauma, self-harm, anxiety. We’ve found a path that works, in profound ways. Nature is our pharmacy. This is why we go.💙 #mentalhealth #outside #togetherweheal #adventurediscovery #recovery #adventurecoaching #recoveryguide #mentalhealthmatters #adventurerecovery #nationalrecoverymonth
