A lot has changed in the past 40 years!

The results are in! The 41% who prefer no work highlight a desire for clear boundaries between personal time and the start of employment, signaling the importance of companies respecting that separation. Meanwhile, the 50% open to light tasks see it as a way to be prepared without diving into major responsibilities. The smaller groups (4% and 5%) are willing to exceed the norm, driven by career ambition, a desire to impress, or unclear role expectations. The results are in! Almost 90% of respondents would be willing to go on AT MOST three to four interviews before getting turned off. The drastic drop-off in respondents thereafter (only 12%) should serve as a wake-up call to any companies with a more elongated interview process. As a hiring manager or HR professional, one of the most critical steps in the hiring journey is defining what the interview process is going to look like. Take the time up front to map that out and be sure to consolidate all of the required meetings into four rounds or less.
