AdvisorEngine reposted this
The annual Schwab Independent Advisor Outlook Study provides a ton of insights into the state of #wealthmanagement, and I was happy to add my perspective to this year’s study. We dived right into technology use by #RIAs, and I reiterated my view that firms have to overcome their own resistance to change and adopt a platform mentality to centralize their communication, workflows and data to truly drive growth and client engagement. Thanks to Amazon and Apple, it’s table stakes to offer a simple, modern digital experience. Not all advisors though are following suit – I noted just 37% of respondents in the Schwab study say they were going to invest in the client experience. That’s close to the findings of AdvisorEngine’s own study which found 84% of advisors believed providing a high-quality digital experience to clients is an important competitive advantage – but only 34% were actually developing it at their firms. Of course, we had to cover the twin impact of the Great Wealth Transfer and adoption of #AI on wealth management. The transfer of wealth between generations is already happening versus in 20 years, and any firm that remains status quo will miss out versus those proactively making the next generations actual clients. Anyone not using AI in some capacity in the near future will similarly get left behind firms that embrace these capabilities to drive growth and simultaneously gain operational efficiencies from them. Thanks to Alison Dooher Jalina Kerr Michael Pendergrass Janelle Ward Jill Brousseau Kevin Witt Megan Livadas Chris Williams who have been instrumental in building our relationship with Schwab Advisor Services. AdvisorEngine continues to deepen our industry-leading integration points with Schwab across many facets of our wealth management platform (CRM, digital onboarding, portfolio management and account administration to name a few), and I’m looking forward to talking more about it at #SchwabIMPACT this year, and I hope to see you there.
