Highlights from this week's Information Management Network (IMN) ESG & Decarbonizing Real Estate Summit: 🔆 Property Value - In this challenging CRE environment, fiduciary responsibilities to investors, risk management, good governance, value creation, value upon exit, and corporate responsibility are core values that unite all CRE stakeholders. 🔆 Data & Decarbonization - Property owners are moving from “how do I collect all of this data” to “how do I integrate this data into an action plan and move forward”. Certain investors are increasingly asking for evidence of progress. 🔆 Physical Risk & Resilience - Property insurance markets have moderated somewhat, but the 2024 hurricane season is upon us. Connecting internal risk management and insurance strategy teams with accurate COPE data and climate risk efforts leads to greater organizational and property resilience & insurance that is more accurately priced. 🔆 Due Diligence - Pre-acquisition is the best time to obtain utility data and screen for both physical and transition risks, such as compliance with building performance standards.
