About us
AENEAS aims to contribute towards climate-neutral and environmental friendly water transport through three new next generation clean energy storage solutions. Eventual impact is an increase of the global competitiveness of the EU waterborne transport sector by European technology leadership for energy storage solutions for diverse waterborne applications. It will focus on increased and early deployment of climate neutral energy storage solutions and significant electrification of shipping. AENEAS will provide solutions to improve overall energy efficiency and drastically lower energy consumption of waterborne transport vessels, founded upon innovative electric energy storage, which is safe and cost competitiveness compared to traditional batteries. The project consortium consists of 14 partners from 8 European countries, including shipbuilders/operators, system integrators, academic partners, and marine stakeholder groups.

💬 AENEAS was, together with SEABAT, HYPOBATT and FLEXSHIP, presented during SOERMAR’s participation in the Navalia Exhibition 2024 in May! 🛳 All of the presented #HorizonEurope projects have in common the research of the decarbonization of maritime transport through the implementation of innovative energy storage systems and hyperchargers in ports. A big thank you to the Navalia Exhibition organizers and our SOERMAR colleague Cayetano Hoyos Matías for presenting AENEAS! Stay tuned for more AENEAS updates! 🔋

🌍🔋 Exciting times at the University of Vaasa! On May 7th, 2024, our UVA colleagues hosted a transformative workshop titled "The Role of Simulation in Advancing the Energy Transition and Electrification." The workshop, organized in collaboration with our industrial partners from the NEXT LEVEL ENERGY SETUP PROJECT, funded by the European Commission, was a resounding success. The colleagues from our consortium member, UVA held an insightful presentation on introducing HIL studies within the AENEAS project. This innovative approach is set to revolutionize our understanding and application of energy systems, pushing the boundaries of what's possible. A huge thank you to all participants, speakers, and organizers for making this event a remarkable milestone in our journey towards a sustainable energy future. Together, we are paving the way for a greener, more electrified world! ⚡🌿 #AENEAS #HorizonEurope #EnergyTransition #Electrification #Simulation #EUProject #NEXTLEVELENERGY #UniversityOfVaasa #Sustainability #Innovation #RenewableEnergy

🎉 Celebrating Success: A productive General Assembly and Academic Workshop for the EU Project AENEAS! AENEAS partners are continuing their work on the development of cutting-edge, safe and cost-competitive electric energy storage methods. Our commitment to innovation and sustainability is the driving force behind our efforts, and our 3rd General Assembly meeting hosted by Grimaldi Group, that took place in Naples on the 21st of March 2024, bore testament to our progress. The day was filled with many presentations and demonstrations of intermediate results and afterwards with active discussions between the partners on the further uptake of the AENEAS results and the upcoming challenges. This General Assembly was a great opportunity for the partners from all over Europe that are involved in this Horizon Europe to meet face-to-face and collaborate. The second day, ForMare - Polo Nazionale per lo Shipping and ISSNOVA organized a very successful Academic Workshop in which more than 60 researchers, professors, and students participated. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us for this experience. Your presence, engagement, and passion for learning made the event truly memorable!
