At AerSale, we believe in bridging the gap between academic learning and practical experience through our hands-on internship program. This week, we had the pleasure of catching up with Jose Viera-Rincon to hear about his journey and what he has learned during his time at AerSale. ✈ 📝 What is your current educational path? I am currently studying at Florida International University, pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology. In addition to my bachelor’s degree, I am completing a Minor in Japanese Language and Literature, and an Undergraduate Certificate in Cybersecurity Intelligence & Information Policy. What division are you interning in? I am interning in the IT department, specifically the help desk. I also had the opportunity to work with the Cybersecurity, Network, and Enterprise teams, allowing me to experience the vast fields that IT offers. What has been your favorite part of your internship experience at AerSale? My favorite part of this experience was being able to learn about the different fields in IT and being part of the team. I felt like the team could depend on me and I was not just someone to do the busywork. What skills have you learned or improved during your internship? This internship has improved my technical skills. During this time, I learned about the vast number of commands and systems Windows computers use to set up policies, privileges, and profiles. I have also become familiar with applications like Jira, Team Viewer, Lansweeper, and Active Directory. What projects are you working on? My main project has been the mass imaging of Windows 10 machines to Windows 11 for the tentative end of Microsoft supporting Windows 10. This project led me to create my own SOP and allowed me to feel more integrated with the team. #aviationcareers #wearehiring #aviationinternship
