Our latest 💡 Student Spotlight 💡 is on United States Space Force Capt David Stamper! Capt Stamper is a student in the Department of Cyberspace Studies -- (AFIT/EXC) Joint Intermediate Cyberspace Operations course (Cyberspace 200) at the U.S. Air Force Institute of Technology on Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. We asked Capt Stamper a few questions to get better acquainted. ➡️ What is your home unit? Combined Space Operations Center (CSpOC), Vandenberg SFB, CA ➡️ What is your current duty? Deputy Division Chief for Cyber, S56. As a USSPACECOM liaison I define operational cyber operations guidance and intent for 26 tactical space units under Delta 5, generate cyber intelligence bulletins for the Commander of Space Forces Space (S4S), and assist in operational planning for our commander. ➡️ What has been your favorite Cyberspace 200 lesson so far, and why? My favorite lesson block so far has been the Defensive Cyber Operations block, as I can take this information on doctrine, policy, methodologies, tools, and cyber intelligence and be able to better provide information to our forces geographically dispersed around the world. ➡️ What have you enjoyed about Cyberspace 200 so far? I have enjoyed getting to meet and learn from cyber officers and senior enlisted personnel from across the Air Force and Space Force on their position, experience, and what they want to see changed, and gained a deeper appreciation for how Space is a joint fight. Our role as Guardians, Space Operators, and cyber operators is pivotal in enabling Air, Land, and Naval operations, but cyber drives all of this. I do not feel I would be an effective cyber officer without these opportunities to learn and grow with fellow cyber warriors, and am happy to be among them. ➡️ What is an interesting fact about yourself? I lived in Greenland for a year and was a co-founder of the Finer Things Club, bringing cuisines like Ethiopian, Indian, Korean, Japanese, Polish, and other European and Asian food more than 700 miles above the Arctic circle. Thank you Capt Stamper for being part of another great Cyberspace 200 class! #airforce #AFIT #cyberspace #education

This past weekend the Department of Cyberspace Studies -- (AFIT/EXC)'s current Joint Intermediate Cyberspace Operations course (Cyberspace 200) class CY200-FY25C had a chance to take a specialized tour at the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force (NMUSAF) at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. The students toured multiple galleries the museum has to offer with one of the museum's expert docents. This ongoing partnership (https://lnkd.in/eDP84GGT) between the Department of Cyberspace Studies -- (AFIT/EXC) and the NMUSAF is a unique experience to connect cyberspace professionals to important United States Air Force and United States Space Force air, space, and joint history. It is another example of how the U.S. Air Force Institute of Technology is helping prepare students to prevail in current and future conflicts. We are fortunate to have a world-class museum as a neighbor and continuing partner in education!
