It features no complicated start up routines, cleaning procedures or 12 step calibration programs and no return to base servicing requirements or waiting on lab results. The 𝐀𝐢𝐫 𝐗𝐒 𝐒𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐚 𝐃𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐨𝐫 examines multiple detection parameters for respirable crystalline silica (RCS) in real time, including size, symmetry and a series of optical markers unique to RCS particles. It simultaneously deploys Optical Refraction Technology (ORT) with light scatter photometry, analyzes every particle sampled and classifies them by their identifiable optical properties. In this way, the Air XS captures all forms of RCS whether alpha or beta quartz, cristobalite, or tridymite and all relevant sizes of particles within the respiratory fraction. This information is then combined with analysis of particle mass to give results in mg/m3 and particulates per liter. The Air XS Transportable Pack is for use in remote locations or where power is not available. Mounted on a high quality tripod and powered by dual lithium ion batteries is has a typical runtime of 30 hours per charge. The model SP-220 is RKI’s latest product offering for leak detection of combustible, toxic, Freon and fumigation gases. The SP-220’s rugged, light weight design and fast response time plus ease of operation will make pinpointing hard-to-find, low concentration gas leaks a simple procedure. The SP-220 type SC version uses a hot-wire semiconductor sensor (MOS) that can detect a range of target gases including PH3, CH4, H2, HCl, ETO, HBr and NH3. The SP-220 type FUM version also uses the same MOS sensor and can detect fumigation gases including methyl bromide, sulfuryl fluoride and phosphine. An integral pump, LCD display with backlight, molded rubber cover, LED light and weather protection (IP-55 rating) are some of the unique features of the SP-220. Snap logging (128 readings) and data-logging (256 data points) features allow for accurate record keeping and testing accountability. The instrument flashes it’s 3 LED lights every 30 seconds in the following conditions; if the instrument has not been bump tested, or if calibration is due, or if there was a gas alarm event. The 3 LED lights will continue to flash once every 30 seconds until the non-compliance condition has been resolved. The 30 second interval is adjustable.
