What is “cool” is not always a good business. And that’s exactly why my first idea, Pebble, failed. Although building a “crypto finance app” for Americans was “cool”, it wasn’t solving an actual problem. Therefore, we never found product market fit despite how much marketing we did. With Affiniti, we took a reverse approach. We scrapped everything we thought we knew previously, and spent over a year deeply understanding and solving the problem first before launching the technology. My new thesis is that a mediocre solution for a big problem is much more valuable than having a great solution for a small problem. Of course, finding a great solution for a big problem is the best :)

Small businesses should not be wasting hard earned cash on a full-time finance team. This is where Affiniti comes in: we are auto-piloting SMB's entire financial operations — starting with card spend.
