This is the first canopy of its kind out at Nellis AFB. This particular row lacked nearby underground electrical utilities to which we could tie into, we were required to design and install a solar array which is capable of powering the lighting system for over 12 hours as a self-contained system. Other than that, it was a fairly typical Sunshade/Environmental Protection Shelter job. We served as the general contractor and managed the BIM on this one. Agate Steel designed, engineered, fabricated and erected the structures. Designed and subcontracted the concrete footer installation. Subcontracted the electrical and solar design/installation.
