Want to try therapy but can't afford it or don't have insurance? We currently know of several therapists and therapists in training who have free and low fee openings! Many of them can also provide therapy in other languages, including Spanish, Mandarin, Arabic, and more! Just email info@agavecenter.org and include a little bit about what you would like to address in therapy, if you prefer in person or virtual, and if you have any scheduling restrictions or therapist preferences. Just a sentence or two is all we need, and we will do our best to get you connected to someone great right away. Thank you so much to those of you who donated to allow us to keep funding mental health services and supports for people who would otherwise go without care! We especially wanted to say thank you to the Tracy Family Foundation for their generous contribution of $7,500 (the largest gift we have ever received!) which allowed us to re-open our application. We definitely still need monthly donors to help keep our work going and keep our application open. We are currently providing funding allowing 11 folks to get the therapy they need, and our selection committee is already processing new applications from people who are desperate for mental health care but cannot afford it. We have been able to approve most applicants thus far, and have steadily been receiving more applications from folks who are desperate for help and cannot access the mental health care they need. Unfortunately, the amount of people asking us for help has now exceeded our funding, and the board made the difficult decision last night to close our applications (for now) due to lack of funding. We are still able to approve some limited renewals for existing applicants, but those funds are running out quickly as well. We are so grateful for our monthly donors who are truly keeping us afloat and keeping this important work going.
