About us

We are Age Well – the leading experts and advocates for the aging population of Northwestern Vermont. We believe that health happens at home and focus on lifestyle, happiness and wellness—not on age. Since 1974, we have been part of Vermont’s Area Agencies on Aging, coordinating services and care for Addison, Chittenden, Franklin and Grand Isle Counties. For over 40 years, we have provided Vermonters with the necessary support to manage their daily living needs, with the goal of keeping them active, healthy and independent. Our wide array of programs enhance quality of life and improve health outcomes. Committed to helping individuals age well, we reduce barriers by providing access to healthy meals, in-home care and community resources. Delivered by staff members and over 1,000 incredible volunteers, our sought-after services are designed to meet the diverse needs of our clients, their families and caregivers. We do not charge for services provided. As a nonprofit, we rely on donations and encourage clients to contribute if they are able to do so. Discover all that we have to offer. Let us help you age well.

Age Well is proud to announce that we have received the Gold Worksite Wellness Award at the 2024 Governor’s Excellence in Worksite Wellness Awards! Five years ago, our Wellness Committee was formed to launch a series of initiatives aimed at promoting workforce wellness and fostering a vibrant culture at Age Well that emphasizes work-life balance. This dedicated committee has been instrumental in enhancing our Employee Assistance Program (EAP) to ensure it is more accessible and beneficial for our team. They also produce our monthly Age Well Newsletter and continually generate creative ideas to support our staff's health, wellness, and inclusivity. Are you interested in learning about voter accessibility? Vermont has many options for making voting more accessible. For in-person voting, you can: ⭐ Use the Omni Ballot tablet accessible voting system at the polls. ⭐Bring a person of your choice into the voting booth with you for assistance. This person cannot be your employer or your union representative. ⭐Bring a magnifying glass to help read the ballot. ⭐Bring a list of candidates with you into the polls. ⭐Ask an election official to help you fill out your ballot. If you make a mistake on your ballot, do not panic - ask an election official for another ballot (maximum of 3). Other options for casting your vote: ⭐You may request to have a ballot dropped off at your home by two Justices of the Peace. You may also access a ballot online on the MyVoterPage; print it; and drop it off at your Town Clerk’s office. To access the MyVoterPage, please visit: https://mvp.vermont.gov The Omni Ballot system is available at most Town Clerk's office in Vermont for early voting, and at the polls on November 5th. Help Take Care of Those…..Who Once Took Care of Us. Age Well celebrates and is proud to recognize National Estate Planning Awareness Week (October 21-October 27, 2024). Founded in 2008 and observed every year during the third full week of October, it’s a reminder that we all need to prepare for the inevitable. National Estate Planning Awareness Week is about drawing up the most important document of your life: An estate plan that protects your interests and your loved ones. It’s never too early to give yourself peace of mind by ensuring a thoughtful estate plan is in place. An estate plan can include a will or a trust, or both. It can detail beneficiary designations, like those you created for your bank account, retirement account, or life insurance. And it should include powers of attorney for your finances and your healthcare decisions. An estate plan is also a smart way to shape your legacy and support the causes you love, like Age Well. You can make a gift directly from your will or explore other planned gift options that may be a better fit for your situation. Make us a part of your legacy. Your planned gift would play a key role in the future of Age Well and enable us to adapt and thrive, ensuring the health and wellness of our aging population for years to come. To leave a gift to Age Well or learn more about legacy giving, call 802-662-5229 today to speak to Sara Wool, Chief Advancement Officer, or visit: https://lnkd.in/gPbnyVxz ***You can even make your gift in honor or in memory of a loved one. With a simple plan to shape your legacy, you can make an incredible difference in the lives of older Vermonters.
