Earlier this week, members of the Agilysys team, Paul Finch and Kathrin Cockhill, attended Hospitality Action's annual ‘Chef’s Dinner’ at the wonderful Raffles London at The Old War Office. The event raised a huge £90,000, which will be used to help workers in the hospitality industry who are facing food and fuel poverty and poor mental health. It was great fun and an honor to have sponsored the lottery this year. Congratulations to all involved, what an achievement for the industry! Read more about the event below.

Craig Dennington, Regional Director for AU & NZ, was featured in a recent Travel Weekly article ahead of Coldplay’s "Music of the Spheres World Tour" kicking off in Melbourne this week! Craig provides his expert insight on how hotels can better prepare for surge bookings ahead of large-scale events and concerts. ✈️🎶 "To truly capitalize on this demand, hotels need to focus on delivering value that goes beyond inflated prices. While raising rates in response to increased demand is understandable – Sydney’s average daily rate is already up by 30% compared to last year – guests need to feel that the experience is worth the cost. By prioritizing service, amenities, and unique touches, hotels can turn short-term gains into long-term loyalty, encouraging repeat visits even after the concert buzz fades." Key Takeaways: 📈 Surge in Bookings: Flight bookings to Melbourne up 47%, and Sydney sees a 44% increase, thanks to the band's tour dates. 🏨 Hotel Boom: Sydney hotels report a staggering 125% rise in bookings ahead of the concerts, with average room rates up 30%. 🎉 Guest Experience Matters: To stand out, hotels must enhance their offerings, creating unique concert-themed packages and exceptional service. 🌍 Economic Impact: Large events like this not only boost hotel revenues but also benefit local businesses, fostering sustained economic growth.
