Ashok, a remarkable young innovator, At just 17 years old, Ashok realized the significant financial burden farmers face in purchasing farm implements and hiring laborers. His keen understanding of these challenges led him to create a series of low-cost tools that have greatly benefited farmers. Ashok has so far fabricated six low-cost tools, which include a seed sowing tool, low-cost portable paddy hand weeder and a monkey gun. His first innovation was a multi-purpose hand tool for weeding chili and cotton corps, gathering paddy grains and dry and bundle paddy grass His remarkable achievements have earned him numerous national and international medals, and most recently, he was honoured with the Young Rural Innovator Award at the Global Indian Scientist Technocrats (GIST) event held in June. Ashok is the sole recipient representing both Telugu states. Ashok visited the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, a public land-grant research university in the US to attend the annual meeting of the American Society for Agricultural Biological Engineers (ASABE).
