🚀 Honored to be the Session Chair for the Space Systems Session at the 50th DCASS! 🚀 Just wrapped up an incredible experience at "DCASS 2025"! It was an honor to serve on the organizing committee for advertising and to chair the Space Systems session. As the Session Chair, I had the privilege to facilitate discussions and introduce innovative research presentations in this critical aerospace domain. This year marked the 50th DCASS, and we had some outstanding moments, including a Keynote from Dr. Kevin Bowcutt, Senior Technical Fellow and Chief Scientist of Hypersonics at Boeing Research & Technology. A particular highlight was welcoming AIAA CEO Clay Mowry, who made a special trip to celebrate this historic 50th anniversary with us. His presence underscored the significance of DCASS within the aerospace community and provided valuable industry insights. From cutting-edge research presentations to engaging discussions, it was truly inspiring to be at the forefront of aerospace innovation and to help create a platform for knowledge exchange that will shape our industry's future. Huge thanks to everyone who contributed to making this landmark event a success! Jose Camberos Troy Hoeger Looking forward to what's next! #DCASS2025 #SessionChair #SpaceSystems #AIAA #Aerospace #Hypersonics #EngineeringInnovation

Outside of my role as Director of STEM Initiatives for ROE40, I also donate my time and volunteer as a member of the AIAA - St. Louis Section where I serve as STEM Outreach Assistant. In my role with AIAA, I helped promote STEM, specifically aviation related to helicopters and drones, to 300 students and parents at the STEAM Fair held at Whiteside Elementary School in Belleville, Illinois. The activity we used was one I developed when I served as a PD and Curriculum Specialist with the Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy. (Activity and handouts available at: https://lnkd.in/gW-tQ24E) Special thanks to Maura Brueggeman (Math Interventionist) for organizing the event and special thanks to Connor Ruesink (Whiteside Elementary School paraprofessional) and Sophia (Whiteside Middle School student) for helping me at the table. Note: Educators and MS/HS students can join AIAA for free. For more information, please go to: https://lnkd.in/gSJsTExQ)

📢 ICYMI: From the ASCENDxTexas stage Top executives from leading companies building commercial low Earth orbit destinations (CLDs) were bullish on recruiting top talent: 🎤 "The job opportunities in space are not just for the space geeks. We’re welding stuff. We’re rolling metal. We have IT departments and HR departments and more." 🎤 "I don’t think there’s a shortage of talent; you need a mix of people experienced in human spaceflight and people working on satellites." 🎤 "Enrollment in aerospace engineering is up. SpaceX has made space really sexy again. You see NASA meatball shirts everywhere now. I think we’re in a really good place, and there are so many bright people who want to be involved in space—it’s fantastic." 🎤 "As we all succeed, we will become magnets within the aerospace industry."
