Riding 545 miles from SF to LA to END AIDS!
About us
AIDS/LifeCycle is a 7 day, 545-mile bike ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles, co-produced by and benefiting San Francisco AIDS Foundation and the Los Angeles LGBT Center. We make sure that pedaling those miles is all you have to focus on – our teams take care of the rest. Throughout the year, we’ll have opportunities and events to help you train, fundraise, and make it to the starting line with water in your bottles, air in your tires, and everything else you need to be ready for the Ride. The event raises awareness about the ongoing HIV/AIDS epidemic and funds services such as HIV testing, prevention, care, and much more. The Ride began in 1994 and was called the “California AIDS Ride.” In 2002, it was rebranded as AIDS/LifeCycle. Since 1994, participants have raised more than $300 million for the HIV and AIDS-related services of the Los Angeles LGBT Center and San Francisco AIDS Foundation.

Last night, we announced that AIDS/LifeCycle 2025 will be the final Ride. This decision comes after much thoughtful work to reduce costs and increase ridership. Ultimately, however, expenses have risen dramatically, and participation has consistently declined to a point where it is no longer financially sustainable for us to continue producing the Ride. While the Ride will be ending in 2025, San Francisco AIDS Foundation and the Los Angeles LGBT Center remain committed to providing services to those most impacted by HIV. The agencies will work with the community to celebrate the exceptional achievements of the AIDS/LifeCycle community, and identify the most meaningful ways to continue that important work. Registration for AIDS/LifeCycle 2025 is open. Limited spots are available for the final Ride. We hope you will join us for one last, truly epic, Ride this June. Visit the AIDS/LifeCycle website to watch a recording of the CEO announcement and Q&A at the community town hall, view frequently asked questions, and register for AIDS/LifeCycle 2025.
