Introducing Luke Morris, our 2024 AIGA Austin Communications Director. Luke is a multi-disciplinary graphic designer & art director from Seattle, Washington. He is also an occasional spoon carver, forager, clawfoot tub restorer, and professional chef. Outside of work, Luke is passionate about cycling, lifting, meditating, and yoga. He is a mental health advocate and perennial volunteer in the creative community. He has a collection of over 18,000 fonts. Luke is currently a Brand Designer + Manager at AMD.

Say hello to Kathia Ramirez, our 2024 AIGA Austin Student Development Chair.

Kathia is a seasoned designer dedicated to creating beautiful brand experiences. Born in Zacatecas, Mexico, and raised in Texas, she now resides in Austin. Passionate about community engagement, she actively contributes to AIGA Austin. Kathia enjoys exploring Austin’s vibrant food scene, hiking the scenic trails of the Hill Country, and illustrating at local coffee shops, one of her favorite pastimes.

Kathia is working as the Associate Design Manager at beautiful St.Edward's University.

The Creative Jam Austin is next week! We are looking for 3 more teams to participate. If you'd like to be considered, please fill out this form by EOD Tuesday, Sept 10th. All levels of design experience are welcome. Participants will create a design based on a theme in just 3-hours. Judges and audience vote for winners. If you are chosen, you'll receive an email from our Adobe host Liz Schmidt. Otherwise, we will be excited for you to attend and witness it all go down on September 17th at 6pm. “You can talk about it, or you can be about it.” Spend enough time with Russell, and you’ll hear these words. He has many mantras, but this one is his manifesto. A wearer of many hats — father, husband, business owner, creative director, design educator, and unashamed Disney adult — Russell is quick to share a laugh, a cup of coffee, and what's left of his time. Since discovering AIGA in 2010, he has been passionate about supporting designers and creative problem-solvers through education, mentorship, and good work. Russell is the Owner & Creative Director at Studio Dzo, a black-owned and woman-led multi-disciplinary, design-build studio.
