  • In the aftermath of disasters such as Hurricane Helene, our first thoughts may be the immediate needs of little ones and families, such as food, water, and emergency supplies-- but other important things we need to be thinking about are the social and emotional needs of little ones in the wake of these tragedies. Talking to young children about disasters, death, and emergencies can be hard. Here are some tips to make them easier. Please consider sharing these resources with families and communities you may know are being affected by the recent natural disasters that have swept across the United States. Be sure to refer to the emergency preparedness resources on our website if you need more assistance. We have specialized resources for floods, tornados, fires, and many more disasters to help families prepare, respond, and recover from emergencies. Spanish resources are available for Bilingual families, and you can use the "Recite Me" functionality of our website to expand accessibility to even more types of differing needs. https://lnkd.in/ekKGYYce
