Mission System Monday! NORAD-NORTHCOM Maintenance Advanced Reporting Suit The NORAD-NORTHCOM Maintenance Advanced Reporting Suite (NMARS) software suite is an effort that provides Eastern Air Defense Sector (EADS), Western Air Defense Sector (WADS), Joint Air Defense Operations Center (JADOC), 601st Air and Space Operations Center (AOC) and the Air Force Forces (AFFOR) Communications Control Center (ACCC), Alaska Air Defense Sector (AADS) and Pacific Air Defense Sector (PADS) with a maintenance management system in direct support of the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) Continental Region (CONR) and Alaskan NORAD Region (ANR) mission. NMARS is an equipment and asset tracking system receiving inputs from WADS, EADS, and JADOC. Cloud One Customer Spotlight Series - AIM HIGH Hear from mission system, AIM HIGH's Captain, Michael Bambarger and Solutions Architect, Kimo Scott as Cloud One interviews the AIM HIGH Mission System about their migration to the cloud. Question 2/4: Has your migration allowed for any manpower, process, or monetary savings on your application? Answer 2/4: If we had to do this on-premise, that would only require a couple IT folks, and that's just because we're developing. We have a couple of folks that know AWS really well and one dev-ops person who checks on the system. This system throws alerts and lets us know when things are down. If we had an on-premise, we'd have to worry about the maintenance of the equipment and we'd have to worry about switching all that equipment out over a seven year period, for example; so it saves us a lot of IT costs. Question 1/4: Describe how you utilize cloud capabilities and is there anything unique that you do, that other users might not within Cloud One? Answer 1/4: We use AWS technologies more than most people do, we're not a lift shift sort of application, we were built on the cloud and then moved to Cloud One, and that's what makes us unique. We were one of the first, and I don't know whether we're still the only application that's open to the public that's on Cloud One. We have some features that are open to parents and regular users where they can download the application of user directly without having to sign in or be part of the military and still use a lot of the features, I would say over 80% of them, and that makes us pretty unique.
