According to the DOJ, a former Air Force member was indicted yesterday for sexually assaulting another service member at Royal Air Force Base Mildenhall, UK, in May 2019. If convicted, the individual faces a maximum penalty of life in prison. The charges were brought under the Military Extraterritorial Jurisdiction Act (MEJA), which allows the U.S. to prosecute certain offenses committed overseas by individuals formerly associated with the armed forces but no longer subject to military prosecution. This case reflects collaboration between AFOSI, the FBI, and the Department of Justice. Read more here ➡ https://bit.ly/3NueXZg
